Daniel M. Thorp, 56, of rural Beloit, WI passed away in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 of heart failure. Daniel was born in Monroe, Green County, WI on March 13, 1954, the son of Thomas and Yvonne (Marquart) Thorp. He graduated from Milton High School in 1972 and attended Black Hawk Technical College. He married Debra Moore on June 25, 1977. Daniel was employed as a machinist at Coltec Industries Division of Fairbanks Morse since January 0f 1976. He enjoyed taking care of his animals and horses, farming, carpentry and loved tinkering with anything, especially his cars.

Daniel Thorp is survived by his wife, Debra, his son, Adam Thorp of Beloit, his mother, Yvonne Thorp of Milton, his brother, Thomas (Sandy) Thorp of Janesville, his twin brother, Dave (Julie) Thorp of Milton, his sister, Julia (Ken) Bailey of Beloit, his father-in-law, George (Carol) Moore of Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Thorp in 2010.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Roxbury Church of Christ, 2103 Roxbury Road, Janesville with Pastor Jon Grice officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Visitation times will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 14^th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
